Meghan and Jon Wedding, Boscobel House and Gardens, The Grandview, Poughkeepsie, New York

June 21, 2019

Ok guys – brace yourselves for a long a** blog post lol! Meghan and Jon picked two of the most scenic locations for their wedding day I have ever seen! Boscobel House and Gardens for the ceremony and The Grandview for the reception. Not only that – Meghan and Jon really value photography and wanted to be sure we had time to photograph the awesomeness of everything. So they added in extra photo time and as you can see it was so so worth it!

From the couple: Your search for the perfect photographer ends here!! Working with Michelle was, by far, one of the best and easiest decisions we made throughout the wedding planning process. After securing a venue and a date, Michelle was one of the first vendors we hired. While I could clearly see her talent (the gorgeous photos in her portfolio speak for themselves), what I didn’t realize when hiring Michelle was that we’d also get a wedding planning partner, a confidence-booster, and, most importantly, a friend. Michelle was with us every step of the way – when we had questions about how various lighting options would photograph, Michelle was showing us samples from different weddings and working with our DJ to craft the perfect uplighting color; when I had no clue what to wear for an engagement shoot, Michelle was helping me weigh pros and cons of different outfits; when we were cluelessly trying to develop a timeline, Michelle was there to make everything better; and when my hair and makeup fell through with weeks to go, Michelle was there reaching out to other vendors and her networks to find someone. Throughout the planning process, Michelle was accessible, always prompt to respond, and so incredibly easy to work with. She quickly gained our trust, and we never once looked back. By the time Michelle showed up on our wedding day, the venue coordinator thought we were old friends who had known each other for years, but that’s just the kind of person Michelle is – she exudes confidence, is easy to get along with, and puts everyone around her at ease – and it shows in her photos. Her second photographer, Allison, was no different. They truly are quite the team! Throughout our wedding day, they had no shortage of poses for us when we felt awkward, but also let us do our own thing – it never felt forced or stiff (the endless supply of dad jokes may have helped!), and it truly felt like we were hanging out with old friends…who just happen to be incredibly talented and take amazing pictures. Michelle and Allison also made sure we stuck to the timeline, tracked down family members to ensure we didn’t miss anyone, hung out on the dance floor, and even managed to get my husband, who hates to have his picture taken, totally into it by the end of the night! When we received our photos back, we were blown away. While we expected to have to wait a month (or more!), we hadn’t even finished unpacking from our honeymoon when received our full album! Though I’m usually hypercritical of myself in photos, I was amazed at how incredible they were – there was nothing for me to criticize. I have no idea how Michelle managed to make us look so beautiful!! Not only did Michelle and Allison manage to capture all of the traditional wedding portraits, they were also experts in capturing all of those “in-between” moments – the laughter, the knowing looks, and those faces you make when you think no one is watching – they captured moments I didn’t even realize existed, and I am eternally grateful to them for it. Bottom line: Michelle truly went above and beyond in every way, while also being professional, prompt, communicative, and incredibly talented. If you want a vendor who will make you feel beautiful, keep you at ease, and brilliantly capture your day, Michelle is your person. We cannot say enough good things about working with Michelle, would recommend her without reservation, and look forward to hiring her again for any future photo shoot needs we might have!!!
